Cinderella Ball to raise shoes for Preston County youth - WV News

ARTHURDALE — The Preston County School Store and AFHA AmeriCorps will present the Cinderella Shoe Drive and Concert on Saturday, Jan. 19, to benefit children in the community.

The Preston County School Store, a volunteer-run program in partnership with Food for Preston and Preston County Schools, provides local school children with basic needs such as food, hygiene, clothes, school supplies, and more. This winter, Preston County School Store is hosting the Cinderella Shoe Drive and Concert to raise donations of new shoes to give Preston County in need.

The night of music, dancing and entertainment will feature live music by Back in the Day Band, Friends of the Manor and the High Street Jazz band. Bring the whole family for free refreshments and a reading of the Cinderella story by the fairy tale princess herself.

Wear your best pair of glass slippers (or other shoes) and join in a best shoe contest to win prizes from local businesses.

The Cinderella Shoe Drive and Concert will be held at the historic Arthurdale Center Hall, located at 18 Q Road, W.Va. 92. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the cost of admission is one pair of children’s shoes. The drive will benefit students in grades K-12, so shoes of all sizes and styles are appreciated. Donations of socks or other items for the school pantry are also welcome.
