Chapel Hill, TX - Prom dresses can be beautiful, but they're expensive and are typically only worn one time.
A Time Magazine study found the average American family spends over 900 dollars on prom a year.
Although prom doesn't happen until the beginning of next year, Brooke Reynolds is already thinking of how to help less fortunate high schoolers take part in the event.
Reynolds, a UT Tyler student, is collecting prom dress donations to help everyone have a special night.
Dresses can be dropped off daily on the porch, or left with the employees, at the House of Sunshine on County Road 2225.
Reynolds is also having two drop off days at Wood and Bean Coffee Shop in Chapel Hill on Dec. 15 and Jan. 5.
Aside from dresses, she is looking for shoe and accessory donations. Volunteers to help with dress alterations are also needed.
Before prom, high school girls will shop through the dresses and get their make up done.
Anyone looking to reach out to Reynolds can find her on Facebook at the Sisterhood of the Traveling Dress.
